Tournament Assistant Program


The Greenbrier Classic, July 2-8, 2018, is proud to offer an exceptional opportunity to qualified individuals looking to gain experience and/or further their knowledge in sport management with an official PGA TOUR Event.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven event management experience
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills
EXPECTATIONS
  • 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
  • Some weekend and evening work is required
  • Assistant will be able to work from May through July, 2018
  • Assistants must provide their own housing

Position #1 - TOURNAMENT CREDENTIAL ASSISTANT
POSITION SUMMARY:  
The Tournament Credential Assistant is responsible for tournament credential fulfillment.  This team member will be in a hands-on, labor intensive position.  It requires team member to be organized, an effective communicator and have the ability to multi task.  Team member must promote The Greenbrier Classic and work to make it the best stop on the PGA TOUR.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist Assistant Tournament Director with administrative duties
  • Track and produce credentials for sponsors, volunteers, staff, vendors, tournament guests, and players and their families
  • Communicate tournament information over the phone to spectators and guests
  • Provide support in Tournament Will Call locations during tournament week
  • Assist Tournament Staff with events and projects as necessary
  • Collaborate on other tournament assistants’ projects as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned by the tournament management staff
Position #2 - TOURNAMENT TICKET ASSISTANT
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ticket Assistant will work closely with the Assistant Tournament Director on ticket sales, fulfillment, and reporting.  It requires team member to be organized, an effective communicator and have the ability to multi task.  Team member must promote The Greenbrier Classic and work to make it the best stop on the PGA TOUR.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist in ticket orders, package fulfillment, and order confirmations
  • Enter high volume orders in a computer database; accuracy is a must
  • Answer heavy call volumes
  • Run daily/weekly reports on ticket sales
  • Resolve customer service issues
  • Assist in problem solving at the Will Call office the week of the Tournament
